Making Your Vows Yours

Last week on our weekly Wedding Wednesday, we got into some ideas on how to make your vows personal (and whether to keep personal vows public or private). Check it out on the video below!

Don’t have 18 minutes to watch? Here’s a quick recap…

Want your personal vows to be part of your ceremony in front of your guests? Awesome!

  • Talk to your officiant about how you want to do that

  • If you are having a church ceremony there may be less room for personalization

Want to keep them more private?

  • Share them with each other during a first look

  • Dont want to see each other? Maybe a first non-look/first touch is for you…(ex through a door, around a building)

  • Put them in a letter that you each open as your get ready

  • Read them together after the ceremony on a private newlywed walk on your own (or with photographer & videographer at a distance)

We did them, now what? They are more than words to say and forget.

  • turn them into a keepsake for your home

    • print them on canvas for your bedroom (this is what Amy did)

    • frame them in writing with some dried flowers from your bouquet

    • voice record them and have them converted to a sound wave to include in artwork

  • reread them every anniversary
